# About us

We're engineers. Sales was to us what holy water is to the devil — we thought a good product sells itself. That was the most expensive mistake of our time as founders.

## The Founding Team

I was a project lead in the automotive industry and then spent a year building my own product — and failed at it because I could do everything except sell. So I learned to sell, discovered LinkedIn along the way, and eventually had so many leads that my own coach asked me how I was doing it.

— Sebastian Andes, Founder

I wanted to go independent as a software developer and booked Sebastian's coaching for it. His advice was to prospect on LinkedIn. The tools available back then didn't run reliably enough for me, and I wasn't going to write hundreds of messages a day by hand. So I built my own. Sebastian saw it and said one sentence: “This is brilliant. You build it — I'll sell it.” That's how CompLeadly came to be.

— Philipp Krapp, Founder

We've been building CompLeadly since 2019\. In that time we've seen what works on LinkedIn and what doesn't — and exactly that is baked into the sequences, templates and defaults you start with. Your messages and contacts stay yours — we don't train any AI on them. And if you have a question, there's a human at our end.
