You can create a LinkedIn company page for free on desktop: click “Products” in the top right, then “Create a Company Page”, choose a page type, enter your company details and confirm that you’re authorised to act on its behalf. You can also create one in the iOS app, but not on Android. You’ll then be the page’s super admin.

This guide walks you through the entire process: requirements, steps, admin roles, verification and your first posts. It ends with the part most guides leave out: how to turn your page’s followers into a target audience you can contact directly. **Last updated: 18 October 2026.** All menu names and rules come from LinkedIn’s German-language help pages, accessed on 3 October 2026.

## Requirements: what you need before creating a page

The page itself is free. But LinkedIn has a few requirements for creating one, listed in its help article on [troubleshooting Company Page creation](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a726850?lang=de). Check them first to avoid an error message:

- **A personal LinkedIn account under your real name.** A company page is always linked to a person. The company gets the page; the profile behind it carries your first and last name.
- **At least two connections.** You can’t create a page with fewer than two connections.
- **An account that’s more than one day old.** If you’ve just created your account, you need to wait at least one day.
- **A confirmed email address.** In its [best practices for creating a page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a553289?lang=de), LinkedIn recommends confirming the address linked to your account first.
- **A verified workplace, in some cases.** LinkedIn may require you to verify the work experience on your profile using a company email address or Microsoft Entra before you can continue.
- **An available URL.** Every page needs a unique address in the format linkedin.com/company/\[name\]. If the name you want is taken, choose a variation.

Also check whether a page already exists for your company. If it does, request admin access instead of creating a second one. If it’s a Listing Page, LinkedIn says you can claim it.

## Create a LinkedIn company page: step by step

### On desktop

Here’s the process described in the LinkedIn help article [Create a LinkedIn Page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a543852?lang=de):

1. Click the “Products” icon in the top right of your homepage.
2. Scroll down and click “Create a Company Page”.
3. Choose a page type: “Company”, “Showcase Page” or “Educational institution”.
4. Enter the company information and profile details, such as the name, public LinkedIn URL and website.
5. Check the box confirming that you’re authorised to act on behalf of the company.
6. Click “Create page”.
7. Click “Start building your page!” and complete the page.

### In the iOS app

1. Open any company page.
2. Tap the “More” icon on the right and select “Create a Company Page”.
3. Choose “Company” or “Educational institution”. You can only create a Showcase Page on desktop.
4. Enter the company name, public LinkedIn URL, website, industry, company size and company type. You can also add a tagline.
5. Check the confirmation box and tap “Create” in the top right.

You can’t create a company page on Android. Use a desktop instead.

### Which page type is right for you?

| Page type | Purpose | Where you can create it |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------- |
| Company | your company’s main page | Desktop and iOS |
| Showcase Page | a brand, product or division under an existing page; up to 25 per company page | Desktop only |
| Educational Institution | Schools and universities | Desktop and iOS |

## Complete your page

Your page is still empty after you create it. In its help article [Complete your LinkedIn Page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a553372?lang=de), LinkedIn says pages with a logo, description and website URL are easier to find and receive “potentially 30% more weekly views”. Industry, company size and an overview are also required if you later want to invite connections to follow your page.

Work through this list in order:

- Logo, at least 268 × 268 pixels; 400 × 400 pixels recommended
- Cover image, 1,512 × 256 pixels; PNG or JPEG up to 3 MB
- Overview and description: what you do, who you serve and where you operate
- Website URL, industry, company size
- Locations, with the main office marked

You can find the image dimensions for logos, cover images and Career Pages together in [LinkedIn cover image size: Dimensions for banners and pages](https://compleadly.com/blog/linkedin-banner-size). Keep in mind that LinkedIn crops the cover image depending on the screen, so don’t place details too close to the edges, especially the bottom right.

## Admin roles: who can do what on the page

The person who creates the page automatically becomes a super admin. LinkedIn distinguishes between page admins and paid media admins. The roles are listed in the help article [Admin roles for LinkedIn Pages](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a541981?lang=de):

![Admin-Rollen der LinkedIn Unternehmensseite als Schaubild: drei Schlüssel unterschiedlicher Größe für die ganze Seite, für Inhalte und für Analysen](https://media.compleadly.de/media/2a0b88e7cb17c3530b8c333b54107299964a94056ccbaa568c82deb1ada35cba.jpg)

| Role | Permissions |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Super admin | Everything: add and remove admins, edit page information, create job posts, deactivate the page |
| Content admin | Create and manage posts, sponsor posts, create events |
| Analyst | View the “Analytics” tab only |
| Paid media admins | Sponsored Content poster, Lead Gen Forms manager and Landing Pages manager, each for ads in Campaign Manager |

Here’s how to add an admin, according to the help article [Add admins to your LinkedIn Page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a569144?lang=de): Open the super admin view, click “Settings” in the left menu and then “Manage admins”. Select the “Page admins” tab and click “Add admin”. The person must follow your page and be a connection within your third-degree network. Each person can have only one page admin role.

Add a second Super Admin on day one. LinkedIn says it cannot release admin data or replace admins. If the only person with access leaves the company, you’re stuck.

## Verify your company page

A verified page displays a badge identifying it as the company’s official page. This builds trust with customers and applicants, and your employees can then verify their workplace. LinkedIn’s help article explains the process: [Request verification of your LinkedIn company page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a7174627?lang=de).

Diagram of LinkedIn company page verification: a chain connects the page and company website, with a shield and checkmark between them to show the domain is verified

Not every page can be verified immediately. According to LinkedIn, eligibility may depend on regular posts, replies to members or a business relationship with LinkedIn, such as ads, job postings or a Premium Company Page. None of these guarantees verification.

1. Open your page’s Super Admin view.
2. In the left-hand menu, click “Settings”, then “Verification controls”. If you don’t see that option, verification is not currently available.
3. Click “Request verification”, then “Get started” in the dialog.
4. Enter your company’s official name and website, followed by its business address, and click “Submit”.

You need to prove that you’re responsible for the website linked to your page. Depending on your domain provider, the review can take up to 48 hours; until then, the status will show “Pending”. Verification is only available on desktop.

## Your first posts: ten ideas to get started

An empty page won’t convince anyone who checks who’s behind your business after visiting a profile or receiving a request. Before you invite followers, make sure you have a few posts on the page. Super Admins and Content Admins can publish posts. These ten topics work as a starting point for almost any company:

1. Who you are and who you work with, in five sentences
2. A common problem your customers face and how you solve it
3. A look at the team: who does what
4. A common customer question and your answer
5. A result from a project, with the customer’s permission
6. An open role or what new hires can expect at your company
7. An article or blog post from your website, with your own take on it
8. An upcoming event: a trade fair, webinar or LinkedIn Event
9. A mistake you made and what you learned from it
10. A checklist or template your target audience can use right away

If you want to make individual words bold or italic in a post, format the text first:

[Open the tool: LinkedIn Text Formatter](https://compleadly.com/free-tools/linkedin-text-formatter)

Read more about the reach of individual posts in [LinkedIn Algorithm 2026](https://compleadly.com/blog/linkedin-algorithm-2026).

## Reach page followers as a target audience

Most guides stop at publishing posts. But the real value of a page lies in its followers. Anyone who follows your company has already shown interest. LinkedIn says so itself in its [Sales Navigator filter overview](https://www.linkedin.com/help/sales-navigator/answer/a1463448?lang=de): customers are more likely to accept an InMail if they already follow the sender’s company page.

LinkedIn company page followers as a target audience: many follower dots around the page, with a filter pulling out a selected group as contact cards

### Step 1: Gain followers

As a Super Admin or Content Admin, you can invite your direct connections to follow your page. There’s a monthly credit allowance shared by all admins. It resets on the first of each month, and each accepted invitation returns the credit. Recipients can see who invited them. With a Premium Company Page, you can also invite followers of similar pages and people who have reacted to your posts. Sources: LinkedIn Help articles [Invite people to follow a company page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a6202478?lang=de) it and enter it [Invitation limits for your company page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a547492?lang=de). LinkedIn no longer gives a fixed number there; you can see your current credits under “Invite connections” in the admin view.

Only invite connections who are likely to be interested in the page. LinkedIn recommends this too, and it helps keep your credits available.

### Step 2: Find followers

To search your followers more precisely, use the “Company followers” lead filter in Sales Navigator. It shows you leads who follow your company. Combine it with job title, industry or region to build a list of decision-makers who already know your company. This guide shows you where to find the filter: [Find followers of your company page in Sales Navigator](https://compleadly.com/knowledge/find-followers-of-your-company-page-in-sales-navigator).

### Step 3: Reach out to followers

This is where CompLeadly helps. The desktop app runs locally on your computer and uses a Sales Navigator search as your target audience, including a search with the follower filter. For that audience, you can start profile visits, connection requests, an opener after acceptance and follow-ups. In the free version, these steps run individually as basic features with daily limits, such as 2 connection requests and 25 profile visits per day. The 10-day trial after registration includes all features. You still need Sales Navigator to use the filter; you’ll find an introduction in the [Sales Navigator guide](https://compleadly.com/blog/how-to-use-linkedin-sales-navigator).

You can also do this the other way around. With the “Invite to company page” feature, CompLeadly invites profiles to follow your page, subject to a daily limit you set. You can select a target audience or let CompLeadly use LinkedIn’s suggestions. LinkedIn’s own limit still applies; if it’s lower, the lower limit takes precedence. The feature is part of the Premium plan and is included in the 10-day trial. This tutorial shows you how to set it up: [Tutorial: Invite followers to your LinkedIn company page](https://compleadly.com/knowledge/invite-follower-to-your-company-feature-in-compleadly).

## The company page in sales, recruiting and job searches

**Sales:** The page is your storefront, but customers hear from people. Someone who follows your page appears in your target audience through the follower filter and receives a request from a person whose company they already know. The process for teams is explained in [LinkedIn outreach for sales teams](https://compleadly.com/use-cases/sales-teams).

**Recruiting:**Super-admins and content admins create job postings; LinkedIn may require additional confirmation by email. Don’t rely on the posting alone. CompLeadly works through a LinkedIn search for suitable profiles or, if you have a Recruiter Lite licence, your pipeline: it visits profiles, sends connection requests, sends your message about the role once a request is accepted, and follows up after a waiting period you choose. Learn more at [Social Recruiting with CompLeadly](https://compleadly.com/use-cases/recruiters).

**Applicants:**Follow the page of an employer you’d like to work for to stay up to date. Then filter the people search by that company and contact a team lead or recruiter directly. On the free version, you can send 2 connection requests a day. Find out which mistakes to avoid in [Job searching on LinkedIn: ten mistakes](https://compleadly.com/blog/10-common-linkedin-mistakes-when-job-hunting-and-how-to-avoid-them).

## Frequently asked questions: Creating a LinkedIn company page

Does a LinkedIn company page cost anything?

No. You can create the page for free. You only pay if you add services such as ads, job postings or a Premium Company Page.

Why can’t I create a company page?

According to LinkedIn, the most common reasons are that your account has fewer than two connections or is less than a day old, the URL is taken, a page with that name already exists, or LinkedIn requires you to verify your workplace using a company email address. It generally doesn’t work on Android, so use a desktop instead.

Can I create a company page without a personal profile?

No. You need a LinkedIn account under your real name. The page is linked to that account, and you become its first super-admin.

How do I add a second admin?

In the super-admin view, go to “Settings” and “Manage admins”, select the “Page admins” tab, then “Add admin”. The person must follow your page and be a connection within three degrees of you.

How do I get the verification badge for my page?

As a super-admin, go to “Settings” and “Verification controls” on a desktop. You’ll need to prove that you manage the website. If the menu item is missing, your page isn’t currently eligible.

Can I reach out to followers of my company page?

Yes, through Sales Navigator. The “Company followers” lead filter shows you leads who follow your company. You can narrow this search by role or industry and use the results as a target audience for profile visits, connection requests and messages.
