The LinkedIn protection pause is a rest period that CompLeadly starts on its own after LinkedIn has temporarily restricted your account. No workflows start during this pause. This gives your account time to settle down on LinkedIn's side.
What exactly happens
LinkedIn restricts your account
When logging in, CompLeadly lands on LinkedIn's security page. In that case LinkedIn has detected a high number of activities. CompLeadly shows you the notice "Your account has been temporarily restricted" once, with safety tips, and also sends you an email.
CompLeadly starts the protection pause
From now on no workflows start. This applies to scheduled runs and to manual starts. The pause lasts 48 hours after the first restriction and 72 hours from the second restriction onwards.
During the pause
The history says: "LinkedIn recently restricted this account. Runs remain paused for about X more hours …". If you start a workflow anyway, the notice "Short pause to protect your LinkedIn account" appears with the buttons "Wait for the pause" and "Continue anyway". You can only continue after you confirm the safety rules with a checkbox. We recommend waiting for the pause to end.
After the pause
Your workflows continue automatically, you do not need to do anything. A successful LinkedIn login also ends the pause early.
Why the protection pause exists
Without the pause, CompLeadly would immediately access the restricted account again. Every new attempt makes the situation on LinkedIn worse. That is why the pause is stored on our server. It stays in place even if you reinstall CompLeadly or start it on another computer.
What you should do now
No reason to worry: a temporary restriction is usually harmless. After 48 or 72 hours everything continues on its own.
- During the pause: Simply log in to LinkedIn manually as usual and use LinkedIn the way you normally do.
- After the pause: Start with smaller daily volumes and increase them slowly, as the app recommends.

If it keeps happening
If your account is restricted several times, one of these causes is usually behind it:
