How CompLeadly protects your data
This page explains what happens on your computer, what is stored on our servers and what never ends up there. No badge collection, just what the software actually does.
The automation runs on your computer
CompLeadly is a desktop app. It controls a browser directly on your computer, not on someone else's server.
Your browser, your connection
The app works with a Chrome browser on your device. LinkedIn therefore sees the connection of your own internet line. You can optionally add your own proxy.
Your LinkedIn session stays with you
Your LinkedIn login lives in the app's browser profile on your computer, with a separate profile per account.
We never hold your LinkedIn password in plain text
The app encrypts your LinkedIn credentials and stores the encrypted value only on your device, separate from the key, which is kept in your CompLeadly account. If you switch computers, you enter your credentials there once more.
What our servers see – and what they don't
So that you can use CompLeadly in the web app and on several devices, your working data is stored in your account on our servers.

- Account, licence and payment data
- Your target audiences, contacts and sequences
- SmartChat messages, if you use the feature
- Settings and statistics of your workflows
- Technical logs and error reports, so we can find and fix problems
- Recordings of what happens in the app and on the browser pages CompLeadly controls for you – for troubleshooting, enabled by default for new accounts; password fields are masked
- For AI features: the profile and context details you select for them

- Your LinkedIn login session – it stays in the app's browser profile on your computer
Share with your team, with roles
You can share SmartChat and statistics with your team as creator, editor or viewer. Only creators and editors can edit or delete the team and invite or remove members.
Cloud computer: your own server
If CompLeadly should run around the clock, even while your computer is off, you can get your own server in the cloud. It is not a shared service where many accounts run together.

- Your own server, just for you, with the CompLeadly app on it
- A fixed IP via Surfshark in a location that suits you – you bring your own Surfshark licence
- Access with your personal credentials, including via remote desktop
The Chrome extension: deliberately narrow permissions
The CompLeadly extension complements the desktop app in your browser, for example when you want to add contacts from LinkedIn to a target audience. You don't need it to use CompLeadly.
- Permanent access only to LinkedIn and CompLeadly addresses
- Access to other websites only when you want to send a page to CompLeadly yourself – and only after you approve it in your browser
Contracts and documentation
If you use CompLeadly in your company, you get the documents your data protection needs:
