Connect LinkedIn to HubSpot

CompLeadly does not have a native HubSpot integration yet. Today you connect the two via webhook – directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n – so your LinkedIn events reach HubSpot automatically.

What exists – and what does not yet

Available today

  • Webhooks in CompLeadly, from the Premium plan
  • 14 LinkedIn events as triggers, e.g. accepted connection request or reply
  • Lead data as JSON: name, email address (if known), company, position, LinkedIn profile
  • Protect your endpoint with an API key or bearer token

Not available yet

  • A HubSpot app you connect in one click
  • Field mapping inside CompLeadly – you do that in Zapier, Make, n8n or your own endpoint
  • Data flowing back from HubSpot to CompLeadly – webhooks only send in one direction

Native integrations for HubSpot, Salesforce and other CRM systems are planned. Until then, webhooks are the way to connect HubSpot.

// events

The LinkedIn events CompLeadly can send

For each webhook, you choose which events make CompLeadly send data.

  • Connection request sent
  • Connection request accepted
  • Message sent
  • Lead replied
  • InMail sent
  • Profile visited
  • Lead’s post liked
  • Lead’s skill endorsed
  • Lead followed
  • Connection request withdrawn
  • Profile skipped
  • Event invitation sent
  • Group invitation sent
  • Lead exported

Which events actually occur depends on the functions your workflows use – a message is only sent, for example, if a workflow sends messages.

// data

What the webhook contains

For every event, CompLeadly sends an HTTP POST request with JSON to your URL. The most important fields:

eventType
Type of event, e.g. connection_request_accepted
workflowName
Name of the workflow that triggered the event
timestamp
When the event happened
leadData.name
Name of the contact
leadData.email
Email address, if known
leadData.company
Company
leadData.position
Position
leadData.linkedinUrl
URL of the LinkedIn profile
leadData.memberId
Stable LinkedIn identifier – the most reliable key against duplicate contacts

If a field is unknown for a contact, it arrives as an empty string – it is never missing. Plan for this in your flow, for example for an empty email address.

Four ways to HubSpot

Which one fits depends on the tools you already use.

Zapier

In Zapier, you create a flow that receives the webhook from CompLeadly and connect it to your HubSpot account. Zapier determines which HubSpot actions are available.

Make

In Make, you set up a flow that takes in the webhook data and passes it on to HubSpot. Make determines which HubSpot actions it offers.

n8n

In n8n, too, your flow starts by receiving the webhook and hands the data on to HubSpot. n8n determines which HubSpot actions are available.

Your own endpoint

If you run your own API or middleware, CompLeadly sends the events straight there – no stop in between. Your own code then hands the data to HubSpot.

Zapier, Make and n8n are independent providers with their own pricing, limits and privacy terms. You decide which provider you use and where your data is processed – check this before you set things up.

// setup

How to set up the connection

  1. 01

    Create a webhook URL

In Zapier, Make, n8n or your own system, create a flow that receives webhooks and copy the URL.

  2. 02

    Create the webhook in CompLeadly

Open Settings → Webhooks and click “Create Webhook”. Enter a name and the URL, choose the events and – if your endpoint requires it – an API key or bearer token.

  3. 03

    Test the connection

With “Test Webhook” you send a test request and see right away whether it arrives.

  4. 04

    Map the fields in HubSpot

In your flow, map the fields to the matching HubSpot properties, such as name, company and LinkedIn profile. The member ID or profile URL helps you avoid duplicate contacts.

According to our pricing page, webhooks are included from the Premium plan, not in the Basic plan. Compare plans →

Common questions about LinkedIn and HubSpot

Does CompLeadly have a native HubSpot integration?

Not yet. Today you connect CompLeadly to HubSpot via webhook – through your own endpoint or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Native integrations for HubSpot and other CRM systems are planned.

Do I need Zapier, Make or n8n?

Not necessarily. The three tools are the easiest route without writing code. If you have your own endpoint that passes data to HubSpot, CompLeadly sends the webhooks straight there.

Which plan includes webhooks?

According to our pricing page, the Premium plan and above; the Basic plan does not. Zapier, Make or n8n may charge their own fees.

Are changes in HubSpot sent back to CompLeadly?

No. Webhooks only send data from CompLeadly to your destination. They do not sync anything in the other direction.

Which data arrives in HubSpot?

CompLeadly sends the event type, workflow and time as well as the lead data: name, email address (if known), company, position, LinkedIn profile URL and LinkedIn member ID. You decide in your flow what gets stored in HubSpot.
