There is no standalone “LinkedIn Profile Viewer” – it refers to the LinkedIn feature“Who viewed your profile?”. You can find them directly in your profile under the sectionAnalyticsWith a free basic account, you can see the total number of profile views and the three most recent visitors; with Premium, you can see the full list.

Where to find your profile visitors

On desktop, go via your own profile. LinkedIn calls the profile icon “You” in the German interface.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click onYou field.
  2. Select View profile field.
  3. Click in the sectionAnalyticsto[Number] profile views field.

In the LinkedIn app

  1. Tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap the profile picture again to open your profile.
  3. Type in the sectionAnalyticsto[Number] profile views field.

If you see nothing there, it usually just means that no one has visited your profile: according to LinkedIn Help, you can only see visitor data if someone has viewed your profile in the past 90 days.

Can you see who viewed your profile on LinkedIn?

Partly. Whether you see a name is not determined by your account, but by the visitor's settings. Anyone browsing in private mode will only appear in your list as an anonymous “LinkedIn Member” — LinkedIn will not share their name or any other profile information with you. Even Premium cannot remove this anonymity: according to LinkedIn Help, you cannot view the names of members who choose to remain anonymous, even with a Premium membership.

The same applies to you in reverse: When you open someone else’s profile, your name appears there—unless you have changed your profile viewing options.

LinkedIn Views: Basic Account vs Premium

You can see the number of profile views in any case. The difference is how many visitors are listed individually and how far back the list goes.

Premium

Both figures come from LinkedIn Help (as of 19 September 2026). Each applies only to visitors who are not browsing anonymously.

Private mode: three profile viewing options

LinkedIn offers three levels for how you appear when visiting other profiles:

  • Name and profile tagline– your name and slogan are displayed.
  • Private profile attributes– only general details, such as industry or job title, are shown, without your name.
  • Private mode– you appear as an anonymous LinkedIn member.

Here’s how to change the option on desktop:

  1. At the top of the homepage, click onYou field.
  2. Select Settings & Privacy field.
  3. Open the section on the leftVisibility field.
  4. Click onProfile view optionsand select the desired level.

In the app, tap your profile picture, then tapSettings, open the tabVisibility next to the course and select Profile view options field.

Important for everyone without Premium: According to LinkedIn Help, as a standard account holder, you need to choose the option that shows your name and profile headline to see who has visited your profile. If you enable private mode instead, you will no longer see who viewed your profile. With a Premium account, the visitor list from the last 90 days remains visible even in private mode.

Profile visitors: a signal, not a trophy

Anyone who opens your profile has taken a step towards you—usually after a comment, a post, a mention or a recommendation. That signals interest, but not purchase intent and certainly not an invitation to send a sales message.

A meaningful response means looking at the person’s background, checking which of your posts may have prompted them, and then building on that instead of pitching. A connection request with a sentence about a shared topic works better than a pitch. If you respond to every profile view with a standard message, you burn the very interest that has just emerged.

If you want to work through profile visitors and followers as a target audience instead of handling them one by one, you can find the instructions in the knowledge base:Use profile visitors and followers as your target audienceThis article explains what LinkedIn shows you—the knowledge base article shows you how to do it in the tool.

No. According to LinkedIn Help, you cannot view the names of members who choose to remain anonymous, even with a Premium membership. Private mode is a privacy setting and cannot be purchased.

Will someone notice if I view their profile?
