Monday morning, 8:30 am: My inbox is full, but I didn’t work for a second over the weekend.

Do you know that "Monday slump" in sales?

You get to the office. The coffee is hot. But the pipeline is ice-cold. You’re starting from zero.

That used to stress me out. If I hadn’t "worked ahead" over the weekend, I was already behind on Monday. For me, sales meant trading time for results. When I stopped, revenue stopped.

That’s not a business.

It’s a hamster wheel. And it takes away the rest you actually need.

I made a decision:

My sales must not depend on me being present.
While I spent time with my family over the weekend and put my phone away, my system kept running. Quietly in the background.
✅ It visited relevant profiles.
✅ It connected with them.
✅ It sent the first messages.

The result this morning?

No cold start. Just momentum. More than 20 new conversations are already waiting in the inbox.

That’s the real "weekend effect". A system (CompLeadly) doesn’t sleep, doesn’t need a break, and doesn’t suffer from "Monday fatigue."

Technology doesn’t just give you leads. It gives you your weekend back. Without the guilt.

How are you starting the week today: from zero or with a head start?

‍

PS: The weekend effect isn’t just for sales teams. Recruiters can set up a Recruiter Lite search or pipeline as their target audience on Friday (you’ll need your own Recruiter Lite licence) and start Monday with the candidates who replied. If you’re looking for a new job, you can do the same with a LinkedIn people search for hiring managers and recruiters at companies you’d like to work for. In the meantime, CompLeadly handles profile visits, connection requests, initial messages and follow-ups when there’s no reply. It runs as long as your computer is on, or on the optional paid cloud computer. The free version includes basic features with a daily limit of 2 connection requests and 1 initial message per day. That’s enough for a handful of companies you’d like to work for, if you’re willing to give it some time. What to watch out for: the most common mistakes when looking for a job on LinkedIn.
