CompLeadly is running slowly or has stopped working - possible fix (Windows)
This article shows you how to clean up drive C (Local Disk C) in Windows to free up more storage space, improve loading times, and boost system performance!
- Right-click the Windows icon in your taskbar.
- Click "Run".
- In the window that appears, enter "temp" and click OK.
- A folder will open that contains only temporary files created during everyday use. To access the folder, you may see the following prompt, where you need to click Continue:
Everything in this folder must be deleted. Then close the folder.
Repeat this process for two more folders.
- Right-click the Windows icon in your taskbar again.
- Click "Run" again.
- This time, enter "%temp%" in the window that appears and click OK.
- Another folder will open with files that you also need to delete completely. Close this folder afterwards.
- Right-click the Windows icon in your taskbar for the third and final time.
- Click "Run" again.
- This time, enter "prefetch" and click OK.
- Delete everything in this folder as well.
The files have not been fully deleted yet. They are now in your Recycle Bin. You need to empty it, otherwise the files will still remain on your hard drive.
To empty the Recycle Bin, right-click it and then click Empty Recycle Bin.
Depending on how many files there are, the process may take a while. As long as you do not cancel it, you can continue using your PC as normal.
