Can you have multiple LinkedIn accounts? Not as one person: LinkedIn's User Agreement gives every member one personal account in their real name. If you want to manage multiple LinkedIn accounts as a team or an agency, the workable answer is one account per person, a Company Page for the organization and a setup that runs those accounts from one place without anyone sharing a login. Below: LinkedIn's own rules, what to do with a duplicate account and how teams split outreach across several profiles. Last updated: 30 September 2026.
Can you have multiple LinkedIn accounts? The short answer
One person, one personal account. §2.1 of the User Agreement says “you will only have one LinkedIn account, which must be in your real name”. An organization that wants several presences on LinkedIn runs a Company Page and lets each team member work from their own account. So for a team, “manage multiple LinkedIn accounts” really means coordinating several people's accounts, not giving one person several accounts.
LinkedIn's help page on duplicates is just as plain: “Creating multiple profiles is not allowed as stated in our Professional Community Policies and User Agreement.” The Professional Community Policies add, under “Be trustworthy”: “Do not create a fake profile or falsify information about yourself.”

Personal account, Company Page and your team's accounts
Three things get mixed up in this discussion, and each does a different job.
- Your personal account is you: your name, your history, your network. It sends connection requests and messages in your name, and under §2.1 you have exactly one.
- A Company Page represents the organization. It is not a second personal account: it is created from a personal account and administered through personal member profiles. LinkedIn Help states: “You must have a LinkedIn account to create a Page.” The admin page adds: “LinkedIn Pages are accessed through individual member profiles. There are no separate login credentials or passwords for Pages.” And: “Super admins can assign admin roles to other members.” Sources: LinkedIn Help: Create a LinkedIn Page and LinkedIn Help: Understand admin access for LinkedIn Pages, both retrieved 30 September 2026.
- Your team members' accounts belong to them. Among the Don'ts in §8.2 of the User Agreement is to “create a Member profile for anyone other than yourself”, so a company cannot create extra profiles for outreach. Each person brings their own.
For outreach this settles the architecture: the number of profiles you can run equals the number of people who take part.
If you already have two accounts: merge or close
If you find a second account in your name, LinkedIn's help page describes the way out.
- Find them: search for your own name. The account you are signed into shows a “You” icon.
- Check whether merging is possible: you cannot merge accounts with zero connections or with more than 30,000 connections.
- Know what you lose: “You'll also lose all InMail credits upon the merge.” Profile content, endorsements, recommendations, group memberships and pending invitations do not transfer.
- Clean up first: cancel Premium, job postings, ad campaigns and events before you merge.
- After closing: “Wait 48 hours after your account is closed, then add the email address from the closed account to your remaining account.”

Our advice: since endorsements and recommendations do not move over, keep the account with the stronger profile, even if the other one is newer.
How to manage multiple LinkedIn accounts in a team or agency
The working rule fits in one sentence: one LinkedIn account per person, one CompLeadly login per LinkedIn profile, all managed from one place. Our knowledge base describes two setups for agencies and teams in managing CompLeadly accounts centrally.
- Option A, own computer: each person installs CompLeadly on their own computer. The agency or team lead controls the setup remotely through the web access at app.compleadly.de.
- Option B, a server per user: every user gets their own server, and whoever manages the campaigns switches between them quickly to adjust settings.
In both setups each LinkedIn profile keeps its own CompLeadly login. One login can technically run several LinkedIn profiles, but only one after the other, never in parallel, and the statistics and contacts of all profiles end up in one pile. That is why we mark this setup as not recommended in several LinkedIn accounts on one CompLeadly login.
Split audiences instead of rotating accounts
Once several people prospect the same market, the real problem is overlap: two colleagues writing to the same person in the same week. The fix is to split the audience, not to push one list through several profiles in turn. The process from our knowledge base article on splitting an audience for several LinkedIn accounts:
- Build the audience once and export it.
- Split it in the spreadsheet, with at most 2,500 contacts per file.
- Import each file into the CompLeadly login of the person who will work it.
In Premium, the blocklist for contacts adds a second safeguard. Contacts a colleague already handles go on the blocklist, so nobody else on the team writes to them. The same method works for three quite different teams.
A sales team
Split by region or by account list so every seller owns a segment. Each seller runs a Connection-Sequence (Basic) from their own profile: the connection request, then a follow-up sequence after acceptance that stops at the first reaction. Replies land with the person who owns the relationship.
A recruiting team
Split the candidate pool by role or location. Each recruiter works their share from their own profile, and if they hold a Recruiter Lite license, a Recruiter Lite search can be the source, with the Recruiter Lite integration (all plans, own license). A candidate hears from one recruiter, not three. More on the recruiters page.
Several job seekers in a career coaching setting
A career coach who supports several clients does not run their outreach through one profile. Each job seeker uses their own LinkedIn account and their own CompLeadly login, and the coach keeps the overview through the web access. The target lists of recruiters, hiring managers and target employers are split and kept apart with the blocklist (Premium), so two clients do not approach the same hiring manager in the same week.
Risks of account rotation and shared logins
Account rotation means several people, or a tool, cycling through LinkedIn profiles, usually with shared logins. LinkedIn's wording is direct. In §2.2 of the User Agreement you agree to “not share or transfer your account or any part of it” and to “protect against wrongful access to your account (e.g., use a strong password and keep it confidential)”. The Professional Community Policies say: “Do not use or attempt to use another person's LinkedIn account or create a member profile for anyone other than yourself.” And: “And do not share your LinkedIn account with anyone else.”

What this looks like in practice is described in our knowledge base article on the levels of LinkedIn restriction. The first levels are harmless: a weekly cap until Monday, a captcha, a prompt to confirm the terms. The captcha comes with a stated reason worth reading closely: double logins or logins from different sources. That is the pattern shared logins and rotation produce. Repeated triggers move an account up the levels.
With cloud tools that rotate accounts, several profiles run through infrastructure the account owners do not manage themselves. CompLeadly takes the other route. It is a desktop app that runs on your own computer through your own IP, at a human pace with daily limits you set. If your computer cannot stay on, an optional cloud server with its own dedicated IP takes over. Details are on the security page.
Whatever setup you choose, the basics from our safety checklist apply to every profile on the team: keep at most about 200 pending connection requests, none older than 5 days, and withdraw older ones gradually. If a profile has already been limited, LinkedIn account restricted: reasons, recovery steps, prevention walks through the next steps.
What CompLeadly offers teams, plan by plan
- Every plan: desktop app for Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS on your own computer and IP, daily limits you set, Recruiter Lite integration with your own license.
- Basic (€29.99 per month, €24.99 per month billed yearly): Connection-Sequences, automated follow-up sequences, Autopilot, Sales Navigator integration with your own license and the contact data export to Excel or Google Sheets that you need to split an audience.
- Premium: blocklist for contacts, scheduled workflows with a calendar, workflow templates, placeholder personalization and CRM export via webhook, Zapier or n8n.
- Premium Plus: automatic detection of formal or informal address (du/Sie) and individual AI messages based on the profile.
You start with a 10-day trial, no credit card required, and afterwards a free tier with basic functions and daily limits remains. Premium and Premium Plus prices are on the pricing page, every function with its plan on the features page. Before you plan weekly volumes per team member, run each profile through the free LinkedIn limits calculator. It estimates weekly limits from experience values rather than LinkedIn figures and runs in your browser.
Frequently asked questions: manage multiple LinkedIn accounts
Can I use two LinkedIn accounts on one computer?
§2.1 of LinkedIn's User Agreement says “you will only have one LinkedIn account”, so one person runs one account. Running two LinkedIn profiles through one CompLeadly login is not recommended, because they only run one after the other and their statistics and contacts mix.
Can an agency run LinkedIn outreach for clients?
Our knowledge base describes two setups in which each client keeps their own LinkedIn account and their own CompLeadly login: CompLeadly on the client's computer, controlled through the web access, or one server per user. That is how an agency can manage multiple LinkedIn accounts without shared logins.
What should you do with a duplicate LinkedIn account?
LinkedIn states that creating multiple profiles is not allowed, and its help page explains how to merge or close the duplicate. In a merge you lose all InMail credits, and endorsements and recommendations do not transfer.
Can you have a personal account and a Company Page?
Yes. A Company Page is not a second personal account: according to LinkedIn Help, “You must have a LinkedIn account to create a Page.”, Pages are accessed through individual member profiles, and there are no separate login credentials or passwords for Pages. Super admins can assign admin roles to other members; sources: LinkedIn Help: Create a LinkedIn Page and LinkedIn Help: Understand admin access for LinkedIn Pages, both retrieved 30 September 2026.
