Incorrect Mr/Ms salutation
When using CompLeadly, the gendered salutation may not always be correct. This article shows you how to adjust the settings to minimise the likelihood of such errors.
Adjusting probability settings
First, navigate to the settings in CompLeadly. You can find them in the Complete menu on the left-hand side. Once there, review and adjust the probability settings. These settings determine when and how a contact is addressed.
Expert settings for gendered salutations
In the expert settings, you will find the “Minimum gender probability” option. By default, this value is set to 80%. This means that a pronoun is used when the first name is identified in the database as male or female with at least 80% probability. You can increase this value, for example to 90%, to improve accuracy.
Adjustments for unclear gender
If a contact’s gender cannot be clearly determined from their first name, there is another setting available. You can activate the “Replace salutation placeholder SA with FN” option. This ensures that the first name is used instead of a specific salutation (Mr/Ms). For example, “Hello Mr/Ms Meier” becomes “Hello Andrea” if the first name Andrea can be both male and female.
Support and help
If you have questions about these settings or need further support, the Support button is available to you. Do not hesitate to use it to achieve the best possible results with CompLeadly.
Conclusion
Using the correct salutation is an essential part of customer communication. With these settings, you can ensure that your automated messages are as accurate and personal as possible. Have you already reviewed and adjusted the settings to improve accuracy in your communication?
