First things first: LinkedIn does not publish a list price for LinkedIn Recruiter. The official product page states that prices “vary depending on your company’s requirements, such as company size and the number of Recruiter licences” – so you receive a quote from Sales. There is also no figure listed on public pages for the smaller Recruiter Lite option; the price only appears in the logged-in purchase process. What LinkedIn does clearly state, however, are the feature differences – and these usually determine which option is right for you.
This article explains what LinkedIn Recruiter is, how Recruiter Lite and Recruiter (Corporate) differ, and where you can check the current price yourself. Last updated: 19 September 2026, all feature information comes from the LinkedIn sources linked in each case.
What is LinkedIn Recruiter?
LinkedIn Recruiter is the paid recruiting tool from LinkedIn Talent Solutions. It is not an add-on to your regular LinkedIn profile, but a separate workspace: its own search, inbox and projects. According to business.linkedin.com – LinkedIn Recruiter it gives you access to the “professional and executive talent pool on LinkedIn”, “more than 40 advanced search filters”, “up to 150 InMails per month per licence”, as well as “collaboration and analytics tools your team can use” and “integrations with ATSs and other LinkedIn products”.
The core principle is always the same: You search for people who have not applied at all and contact them directly via InMail – without knowing their email address and without being connected to them.
LinkedIn Recruiter Lite: the smaller option
Recruiter Lite is the entry-level tier. LinkedIn describes it on business.linkedin.com – Recruiter Lite as a solution for organisations that “hire only a few employees per year and need basic sourcing features”.
The key points according to LinkedIn:
- InMails: “30 per licence” per month. Additional credits can be purchased in packs of 10, with up to 70 more per seat; according to the help article, the limit is 120 InMails per seat per month, and purchased credits do not expire, but are shared across the account (linkedin.com/help – Purchasing additional InMail credits).
- Search filters: “more than 20 filters” such as skills or work experience (linkedin.com/help – Recruiter Lite – Overview).
- Network reach: contacts up to the 3rd degree – meaning direct connections as well as 2nd- and 3rd-degree connections.
- Team: a team of up to five recruiters, with one licence included; additional licences cost extra.
- Separate from your personal profile: messages, searches and job postings are kept separate from your personal LinkedIn account.
LinkedIn explicitly notes one restriction: Recruiter Lite is currently not available to members in China.
Recruiter Lite vs. Recruiter (Corporate)
LinkedIn’s official product comparison page compares Jobs, Recruiter Lite and Recruiter side by side. The differences listed there are:
Feature | Recruiter Lite | Recruiter |
|---|---|---|
InMails | 30 per licence per month | unlimited messages per licence per month |
Search filters | more than 20 filters (help article) | more than 40 advanced search filters |
Network reach | up to the 3rd degree | access to the entire talent pool |
Analytics | standard | advanced |
Team | up to 5 people, free licences for hiring managers | collaboration and analytics tools for the team |
ATS integration | – | integrations with ATSs and other LinkedIn products |
Two notes for the sake of accuracy in this table: LinkedIn gives different numbers for search filters depending on the page – the product comparison page also states “more than 40” for Lite, while the help article says “more than 20”. And an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is called BMS (applicant management system) by LinkedIn; it means the same thing: your applicant system automatically pulls in candidate data instead of someone having to enter it manually.
What LinkedIn Recruiter costs – and where you can see the price
For Recruiter (Corporate) LinkedIn does not state a public price. The product page refers you to the sales team because the price depends on company size and the number of licences. Any figure you find online is a third-party estimate – we deliberately do not present it here as fact.
For Recruiter Lite the public product page promotes “Try for free now” or “Try now for $0”, but does not display an amount itself. The steps to find the current price are:
- Go to business.linkedin.com/de-de/talent-solutions/recruiter-lite field.
- Click the “Try for free now” button.
- You will land on the LinkedIn product overview at linkedin.com/premium/products. This page is only accessible when you are logged in – if you are logged out, you will only see the sign-in screen.
- There, you will see the price, currency and billing period for your market and account.
Why this matters: LinkedIn bills in different currencies depending on the country, taxes may be added depending on the account, and promotional prices expire. A figure from a blog published a year ago – including ours – would be worthless for your budget planning. Check the purchase process before you calculate.
Recruiter, Premium or Sales Navigator?
Recruiter is not the same as a Premium subscription. Premium is an add-on to your personal profile, while Recruiter is a separate workspace for hiring. We have covered the available Premium tiers and what they can do in LinkedIn Costs and Premium Pricingbroken down.
The closest alternative is Sales Navigator: the same idea, but for a different target audience. It looks for potential buyers rather than candidates. If you actually want to acquire customers rather than hire, Recruiter is the wrong tool – see Sales Navigator: a worthwhile investment or an overrated sales tool? field.
Which option is worth it for whom?
Without a price tag, the question of what you need is more helpful. The feature differences paint a clear picture:
- You hire occasionally, on your own or with one other person.30 InMails per month are enough if you reach out selectively instead of casting a wide net. Recruiter Lite is built for this—LinkedIn itself positions it for organisations with only a few hires per year.
- You are continuously filling roles within your team.Once several people are working on the same pipeline, the things Lite does not offer start to matter: unlimited InMails, advanced analytics, and ATS integration. This is where Recruiter comes in—and with it, the sales team.
- You are unsure.Take the free trial of Recruiter Lite and test whether the filters and InMail allowance are enough for your real searches. That is more reliable than any table.
One more note: the InMail allowance is not a guarantee of success. Whether your message gets answered depends on the copy, not the package. Find out how to improve your reply rate in our article on LinkedIn InMails and reply rates field.
